You can always call us for help scheduling the right quantity and type of portable potties, toilet trailers, and other facilities for your event or work site. However, to answer some common questions, we have provided some rough estimates for typical contracts that we have performed. These estimates are based upon years of experience, but no two customers have exactly the same needs, so you may want to run these numbers by us before you make a decision.
Restroom facilities for job sites:
Rough estimates usually say to add one portable restroom for every 10 employees. This assumes a typical eight to nine hour work day. Franky, it also assumes that your employees will all be men. Longer shifts or the presence of women usually mean that you should be more generous with your restroom facilities.
That means you need 2 porta potties when you add an eleventh employee. If you have women on your job site, you should probably round up. That means you would start with two porta potties for 1 to 10 employees, three for 11 to twenty employees, etc. In any case it might be better to have a separate area for different genders, and this is particularly true if your good people will be on the same site for several days, months, or weeks.
It will be a lot better for your business and productivity to have plenty of portable restroom facilities. You want people working, and you don’t need them standing in line for a long time because they need to use the restroom. You also don’t need them complaining about the lack of clean and convenient facilities.
Restroom facilities for events:
Again, the exact number of mobile restroom facilities that you require will depend upon the length of the event, and it might also depend upon the percentage of women and kids. Face it, guys just seem to be more efficient at this type of thing. Also, women tend to take small children with them, and this can hold up a line. In an idea situation, people won’t need to wait in a line of more than one person. Trust me, the more facilities you have, the longer your guests will stay and enjoy the event.
For a three-hour event, have at least three porta potties for every 100 guests. For an all-day event, up that to five because people are more likely to have to return to the restroom. Again, the percentage of women and kids should be factored in.
